Kochi is a good base for a Kerala trip. Fort Kochi has old Portuguese and Dutch streets, cafés and the Chinese fishing nets. From here, Alleppey's houseboats are about 1.5 hours by road and Munnar's tea hills about 4 hours.
Best time to visit
October to March. The monsoon, from June to August, is the main season for Ayurveda treatments.

Cochin International (COK) is at Nedumbassery, about an hour from Fort Kochi.
